#9 Virtual Worlds

When I first started exploring this application, Iwas quite to very negative. I didn't see a great deal of value in having it as an educational/real life option ... except for those with few real life/social skills/interests. The lack of face to face 'real' contact really bothered me. Although I still have that concern ... have I ever changed my overall tune! Visiting the Ohio State YouTube link and seeing what could be happening eg distance ed and language learning through 'immersion' has certainly given me a new perspective. The opportunities for theatre, performances, interactive, visual arts displays (in virtual galleries!), providing a differentiated curriculum ... the list goes on! Wow1 It's exciting.
